Pet shops

Small, independent pet shops can find it difficult to meet the expensive costs of veterinary treatment for any ill or injured animals within their care. As these costs are rarely recouped by the sale of the animal, sometimes animals are left untreated or are euthanised when it would be possible for them to make a recovery. As pet shop stock animals get older, they become more difficult to sell and are often returned to the breeder that they came from or are euthanised if there is nowhere for them to go.

For these reasons we work with pet shops across the East Midlands and encourage them to release ill, injured and older animals into our care for treatment and eventual rehoming. We are happy to receive aquatic, avian, exotic and mammalian species.

If you own, manage or work in a pet shop and would be interested in working with us please get in touch.

Farms

Picture
EMOR works to rescue animals that are of little financial value to the agricultural industry by performing  'open rescues' where independent farms can release animals that have reached the end of their productive lifespan as well as unwanted, surplus and injured animals, into our care - animals such as injured chickens, turkeys and hens who have finished laying, dairy cows who have dried up, runt piglets and orphaned or rejected lambs. These animals are then rehabilitated and rehomed into permanent, loving homes.

If you own or work on a farm and may be interested in getting involved with East Midlands Open Rescue, we would be delighted to hear from you.
