From goldfish to guinea pigs, from cockatiels to cows,

East Midlands Open Rescue is here to help

EMOR is a small, self-funded animal rescue based in Grantham, Lincolnshire and is run entirely by dedicated volunteers. Our aim is to help any animal that is in need and so we work to rehabilitate ill, injured and unwanted animals before placing them in permanent, loving homes.

We work to rescue animals from within the pet trade and the agricultural industry by performing  'open rescues' where independent pet shops and farms can release unwanted, surplus and injured animals into our care; we work with pet owners who need to find a new home for a pet; and with the general public to provide pet care advice.

In August a huge number of tortoises were stolen from The Tortoise Garden in Cornwall. While Zeus their big sulcata, the leopards and the red foots have now made their way back home, there are still 28 tortoises missing:

An 8 year old male spur

Please help us to get these tortoises back to where they belong. If you see any tortoises being offered for sale without the correct paperwork or something just doesn't seem right about an advert, please contact us at openrescue@live.co.uk so that we can inform the relevant authorities and it can be followed up.
